Experience
Work shaped by reporting, process, trust, and useful detail.
Most of my experience has involved making complicated work more workable for other people. That has meant translating policy into procedures, building tools that reduce confusion, training teams across different levels of technical comfort, and keeping high-detail operational work moving reliably enough to support major funding decisions.
The common thread is reporting infrastructure: gathering requirements, structuring messy operational information, building repeatable workflows, and communicating enough context for leaders and teams to act.
Senior Specialist, Specialist, and Associate Specialist in Grants Management
- Managed budget administration, monthly forecasting, recurring reporting, and operational analysis for APHL's NU60OE000103, NU60OE000104, and NU47CD000001 grant portfolios, supporting an average annual funding stream of $100M+ across approximately 50 funded projects.
- Produced recurring and ad hoc budget reports, forecasts, and analyses to identify trends, surface planning risks, and support allocation decisions.
- Gathered requirements from program and finance stakeholders and translated project-level plans into consolidated budgets, reports, renewal materials, and decision-support outputs.
- Coordinated annual renewal application and budget development across 11 program directors, turning decentralized project information into unified application materials.
- Built a structured Excel budgeting workflow to replace Word-based templates, improving data consistency, reducing user error, and shortening review cycles.
- Created SOPs, reference materials, and staff trainings that standardized grant procedures and helped non-technical users navigate complex federal requirements and internal systems.
$170M+ Emergency Cooperative Agreement Proposal
- Orchestrated APHL's development and submission of a fully funded $170M+ emergency COVID-19 cooperative agreement proposal to CDC in under two weeks.
- Consolidated budgets, workplans, and federal application materials across approximately 18 projects and 5 program directors under continual late-stage scope and funding changes.
- Served as primary liaison between APHL program leadership and CDC officials while program staff were simultaneously engaged in active pandemic-response operations.
- Helped secure funding for expanded public health laboratory testing capacity, state access to testing materials and equipment, workforce and data fellowship growth, and informatics infrastructure including the AIMS platform.
Assistant Director of Annual Giving for Phonathon
- Raised approximately $400K annually from 1,500+ donors through targeted outreach and team execution.
- Supervised 35 callers, including hiring, training, feedback, scheduling, and team operations.
- Managed and cleaned a 12,000+ record calling database and produced recurring reports using RuffaloCODY Campus Call Software.
- Used segment-level analysis to prioritize outreach and improve fundraising returns.
- Restructured incentive programs, contributing to a 50% increase in recurring gifts from FY17 to FY18.
Research Assistant and Mathematics Grader
- Applied graph theory techniques to analyze integer relationships and produce new results in Ramsey Theory.
- Presented undergraduate research at the Joint Mathematics Meetings and received the Outstanding Presentation award.
- Graded proof-based combinatorics work, sharpening precision in logic and written explanation.
Student Manager
- Recruited and trained callers, provided performance feedback, and supported team operations.
Additional Strengths
- Comfortable translating specialized or policy-heavy material into practical guidance.
- Bring reporting judgment, stakeholder translation, workflow design, and practical technical implementation to BI, business analyst, and data operations work.
- Experienced with Excel, SQL/SQLite, Python, pandas, FastAPI, React, TypeScript/JavaScript, API design, and CSV import/export.
- Enjoy improving recurring workflows instead of just handling one-off fixes.
